To guarantee our plants healthy, strong and exuberant growth, we can count on a very effective tip.
During the summer, nature takes back control and gives color, brightness and beauty to all environments. It is certainly no coincidence that during the summer months many people decide to grow numerous plants in their garden, but also on the balcony, on the windowsill or in the rooms of their house. Obviously, everyone who chooses to be passionate about gardening must keep in mind that their ecological friends require a lot of care and proper maintenance. Only in this way will it be possible to guarantee a long life of flowers and plants and enable healthy, strong and exuberant growth.
Growth of pepper plants is guaranteed with this method
Among the many plants that can easily be found this season in gardens, on balconies or even at home, there is undoubtedly pepper .
Pepper, generally used as a vegetable, is a food frequently present in Italian cuisine. There are many recipes that can be made with peppers and that is why the plants are so common.
However, many are unaware of certain characteristics of pepper that are better to know. For example, pepper plants are perennial plants , meaning they can live for a few years.
If we are careful and do things right, we can guarantee a very long life for our pepper.
Since they are perennials, it is not necessary to plant them every year . In fact, pepper plants come back to life every year and produce this element with many benefits.
Now that we know this aspect, we no longer need to throw away the pepper plant(s) that have not produced well.
This is a bad decision because there is a way to save them and return them to consistent production. In addition, by doing this we will also save a lot, since we will not have to constantly buy seeds and seedlings.
The first thing to keep in mind is that pepper plants do not live long in cold weather. Therefore, it is not appropriate to keep them outdoors during the colder months , unless they are grown in a heated greenhouse.
Ideally, keep the plant indoors during the winter months. Simply dig up , pick the pepper and place it in a larger pot.
At the bottom of this larger pot we will place a little clay or gravel to prevent the water from going below the level of the roots.
Another important operation to carry out is to spray the plant with an effective pesticide to eliminate all possible parasites. To make an excellent pesticide you can use a mixture of neem oil and Marseille soap.
With this solution you will have an excellent result
Once these steps are completed, we can transfer the plant to the house or garage , where there will certainly be more than ten degrees and enough light. You will only need to water the plant once a week.
If we begin to notice that the pepper is losing its leaves or turning yellow, we have nothing to fear, because it has just entered vegetative rest . We proceed by cutting all the secondary branches, leaving only the main ones.
When spring returns, we can move the pepper to a warmer location , ensuring that it is watered more frequently.
You can also take the pepper outside, but only when you are sure that night temperatures no longer drop below a certain threshold.
By carefully following all these tips, the pepper will become strong and exuberant : if we are lucky, we will witness a rich production.
