Bathroom limestone

The bathroom is very exposed to the well-known consequences of stagnant water.   Limescale, scale and scale    make the bottom of the toilet bowl visibly dirty and yellowed.   It continually gets dirty,    after a few days all cleaning progress is lost and it turns yellow again. Maintaining pure white is difficult, but not impossible. What we do is spend time and money researching commercial water softeners. These are very expensive detergents (especially in these times of high costs of living) and are never completely effective. In addition, they are rich in aggressive and harmful chemical agents and, in most cases, emit unpleasant odors.

They are harmful to us and to the environment: prolonged inhalation can be harmful, while the release of these substances into the environment is harmful. Chemical and toxic agents make no concessions to nature. This is why it is good to know    an alternative method    to remove scale and lime deposits from the toilet bowl. A method that only requires completely safe and natural ingredients. Below we show you step by step    how    to fix this in a simple way.

Baking soda and white vinegar: use it like that, you’ll never go back

We discovered    that with just a few euros    we can descale and remove stains from our toilets. Our allies will be white wine vinegar and baking soda, versatile products that are useful on several fronts. With your help we will make our bathroom bright and white, and we will do it very easily. All you need to do is    pour about half a liter of vinegar    (500 ml) into the toilet bowl. Using    a clean toilet brush,    vigorously scrape the bottom and all the walls of the most yellowed and encrusted toilets. Then you need to let the vinegar act for at least a full minute. After 60 seconds we can add the baking soda.

You will need about    150 grams of baking soda    and you will need to pour it into the cup. After this step, we take our vinegar again and add another 500 ml. The reaction will be foamy and effervescent: all the encrustations will slide off as if by magic. All impurities will disappear.

Vinegar and baking soda

Leave to rest for at least 10 minutes    , then use the brush again to distribute the foam on all sides and rub well. It would be a good idea to let the vinegar and baking soda solution sit for up to 30 minutes, brushing again a little, until the tartar appears to be gone.

This is a useful procedure in cases of heavy encrustations that have been present for some time, but if maintenance is carried out regularly, the effort will be even less.   Even using only white vinegar    , but only when the situation is not too “severe”.
