A house, as well as a workplace and a professional studio, looks much more beautiful if its interiors    are characterized by flowers and plants    , which enliven and highlight the entire apartment. Gardening enthusiasts never fail to enrich the walls where they live or work with plants and flowers that set the tone for the entire environment.

Among the most appreciated and requested flowers are undoubtedly orchids    , which stand out for a certain delicacy, but also for their originality and color. Orchids add a unique and decorative touch to homes, but at the same time they are difficult flowers to grow, care for and maintain. So how do you keep them alive as long as possible and make them flower all year round?

Making orchids bloom as best as possible: this method will surprise you

Orchids, which easily adapt to the indoor environment, have specific needs. To guarantee a certain conservation of these flowers,    regular maintenance and special care are necessary.   Firstly, to promote the flowering of orchids, it is necessary to water the plants regularly, as moist soil prolongs the period and duration of flowering. Orchids should    be watered once a week    in spring and summer, while in winter a maximum of once every two weeks.

It is also essential that orchids receive    appropriate sunlight,    but care must be taken not to expose them too much: their tolerance to direct sunlight is very low. Like all plants, orchids also have specific needs: if these are respected, we see that these plants last a long time.

“Homemade” fertilizer

Some choose to resort to    fertilizers    , but these solutions usually consist of chemicals which, in the long term, can be toxic not only to the flowers, but also to the health of those living in the house. This is why it is advisable to make a    “homemade” fertilizer.

For orchids to flower at their best, it is essential to fertilize them very regularly. Certain substances, such as    potassium, iron, silicon and phosphorus    , help orchids grow well. All of these elements are contained in one ingredient, rice water.

The first step is to add the equivalent of 10 grams of rice to a liter of hot water and leave to marinate for an hour. After this time, drain    the rice, filter the water and let it cool    . Then pour the resulting liquid into a bottle and water the orchids. The advice is to use this mixture once every four waterings: after a few days you will start to notice a clear change in the rate of flowering of the orchids.

Watering orchids with Epsom salt – Find out how to do it

Another very effective tip for growing and preserving orchids is to use epsomite, also known as    Epsom salt.   This specific mineral helps nourish the potting soil, allowing the orchid to not only grow faster but also bloom beautifully.

Solutions for watering orchids

Composed of hydrated magnesium sulfate, Epsom salt allows plants    to better assimilate essential nutrients    , including nitrogen and phosphorus, to promote flowering. In addition, epsomite allows the formation of chlorophyll, essential for photosynthesis. Simply add    a teaspoon of salt to a liter of water    then pour the mixture over your plants. The operation must be repeated once a week.
