Fresh fruit all year round, you won’t have to throw anything away: ancient Chinese medicine

Do you want to have fresh fruit all year round? Do you have the ability to use a lot of fruit and want to keep it for a long time? Don’t worry, here’s the ancient Chinese remedy to keep fruit fresh all year round!

Being able to have fresh fruit all year round is a great advantage for consuming healthy and wholesome foods and saving money. Normally we all use the refrigerator to store food and keep it fresh for longer, but even then fruits don’t last forever and space is limited.

So how to do it? Thanks to the Chinese method,   you can keep the fruit for a long time and always eat it fresh,   without using preservatives that could harm your health. It’s a simple method to perform, here’s everything you need to complete the procedure!

Wash the fruit thoroughly

The first thing you need to pay attention to in order to put the Chinese method into practice and   obtain excellent results is to use fresh and undamaged fruits.  So the fruit must   be healthy and not rotten,   otherwise it will not achieve the desired results.

The fruit should be washed by placing it in a saucepan and under running water. Wash several times to remove any residue and drain thoroughly.

Take into account the large quantity of fruit to be preserved   and carry out the Chinese preservation method in detail, following step by step the procedure indicated below.

What is needed to perform the Chinese method

In addition to fruits, which you can choose from several types, such as apples, cherries, grapes, plums, peaches and much more, you will need   one and a half liter glass jars   . Calculate the amount of fruit you want to preserve with this method and obtain the necessary jars.

You can choose to mix fruits in a jar, but the advice is to place fruits by type. As for   the cherries, remove the stem and just place the cherries inside the jar   . Below is what you need to do to perform the correct preservation procedure.

The Chinese method for preserving fruit

As mentioned earlier,   you can choose different types of fruits,   but it is advisable to choose fruits that are not too large to fit more in the containers. Here’s what you need to do:

  • Boil the water, choosing the amount needed to fill the pots.
  • Remove the leaves and stems (or petioles) from the fruit, wash them well
  • Place the fruit in the jars and fill them to the brim
  • Pour boiling water over it, without reaching the edge of the pot.
  • Place the lids without screwing them on and leave to act for 10 minutes.

Once the time is up,   remove the lid and place a plastic one with holes in it. Pour water into the pan and boil again.

How to complete the procedure

While the water is boiling again, add 2 heaping tablespoons of sugar to each glass jar filled with fruit.  As soon as the water boils, pour it over the fruit, catching it with a ladle to prevent it from splashing.

Fill the jars to cover the fruit, but not to the rim. Replace the jar lids and tighten them securely with the sealing tool. At this point, take two towels, use one to place the jars and the other to cover them.

Let the jars cool for 24 hours at room temperature   . Once the procedure is completed, the jars are ready to be stored for a long time.

Place them at a temperature not exceeding 18°, in a dry place and protected from light. The fruit keeps perfectly for twelve months and therefore   for a year you can eat as much fresh fruit as you want, without having to buy it.  A big saving if you consider the price of fresh fruit. The bottle, once opened, must be emptied within a few days!
