Cleaning the oven: 3 effective tips to properly clean and degrease it

If you also use the oven intensively, you will surely have had to deal with the dirt and grease that accumulates on the walls and grills and which, because of the heat, ends up hardening and becoming really difficult to remove.

To clean the oven, we generally use industrial degreasers or other specific products, almost all of which are effective but very toxic to our health. Below we suggest three natural tips for cleaning the oven and scrubbing it thoroughly.

Disinfect and clean the oven with salt
Salt is an ingredient that we all have in our kitchens and, in addition to giving flavor to our dishes, it is also very useful for household cleaning thanks to its degreasing and disinfectant properties.

Mix half a liter of white vinegar with 250 grams of salt. Pour this solution into a spray bottle and shake well to dissolve the salt.

Spray the solution all over the surface and inside of the oven and leave for 20 to 30 minutes. Then clean with a sponge to remove stubborn dirt.

Finally, wipe with a damp cloth to remove all residue and leave the oven looking like new.

Lemon against oven grease
In addition to having disinfectant properties, lemon is also an excellent degreaser, also capable of deodorizing surfaces.

Cut three lemons in half and squeeze them. Pour the lemon juice into a saucepan and put in the oven preheated to 250°C for about 30 minutes.

Then remove the pan and let the oven cool, then wipe with a damp cloth to remove all food and grease residue. Caution: Make sure the pan is suitable for use in the oven.

The classic method: vinegar and baking soda
The combination of these two ingredients is one of the most powerful in household cleaning. Both have degreasing and disinfectant properties and are capable of restoring the steel of the oven to its original appearance.

Mix 100 ml of apple cider vinegar with 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a spray bottle. Wait for the effervescent reaction to finish, then spray over the entire oven surface.

Heat it to 120°C for about 10 minutes, then turn it off and let it cool. Finally, use a damp sponge to clean it thoroughly and make it look like new.
