Sodium bicarbonate

Baking soda is one of the most effective natural ingredients for unclogging clogged drains. Being an ingredient that we always have at home, it is also a practical and quick method in case of emergency.

The application of the method is very simple. Pour about 100 grams of baking soda down the drain. Immediately afterwards, pour 200 ml of white vinegar and wait for the effervescent reaction to end. Wait about 5 minutes, then pour hot water down the drain.

Extra tip: you can take advantage of the effervescent reaction of the baking soda and vinegar to scrub the surface of the sink with a sponge: it will look like new!

U-shaped wire

If the pipes are clogged with food debris or hair, you can unclog them with a piece of wire. Make sure it is long enough and the tip is bent into a ā€œUā€ shape

Put the wire in the drain and remove as much residue as possible. Finally, pour boiling water down the drain to finish cleaning. If bad odors are coming from the drain, also use the baking soda method described above.

Hand plunger

This is probably the first method you should do if you have a clogged pipe at home. Practical and quick, it is the most effective for quickly unblocking the sink, shower or toilet drain.

Its use is very simple. Fill the sink with water, place the plunger in the drain making sure the rubber part covers it completely. Tap to remove the blockage.

Next, pour boiling water down the drain to get rid of any residue.

Hot water and salt

These two ingredients are very effective in unclogging a clogged drain and eliminating bad odors.

Bring the water to a boil and, once it reaches a boil, turn off the heat and add 100 grams of salt. Stir well to melt it.

Pour the solution down the drain and let it sit for a few minutes.
